Hi there, I hope you are doing well.
Here in the UK it is suddenly starting to behave like summer. The sun is actually shining and it is warm and set fair for a time. Now unless you are wired up differently you are probably a fan of sunshine and warm weather. Most of us are. We generally have that feel good factor at this time of year, and enjoy better health as a result. There are many good side effects of this sort of time of year-longer evenings, which are balmy and allow us to live outside more. Then there is all the sports events or just sitting outside having a beer. Wearing less clothes and feeling happier. The added benefits of summer can all add up and of course we want to have the freedom to enjoy them.
Now one of the purposes of internet marketing is to allow you more freedom, of location and time. Along with that is the knowledge that your business is helping someone else in their life- making more money, losing weight or finding a better relationship.
Now in your soap opera sequence of emails which you are sending to your new subscriber, in the third email I described having an epiphany, which is the occasion when you realised that the affiliate product was just what you required to help you out of your mess. You told your readers that this product which you are offering them was just the solution to your problem, and by inference is just what they need also.
Now you can leave the sequence at that point-this is the shortest possible sequence you can use. Or you can continue into a fourth email If you do then this one can be used to elaborate upon the side benefits which your affiliate could give them.If it is about a way to make money online then the additional benefits you would describe could include giving you time to pursue a better lifestyle, or the only you need to help someone out, or the money to go travelling with. Whatever you can think of would be an appropriate extra benefit you can use to strengthen your case. And so on. Piling on the benefits of acquiring your affiliate offer product will help in the marketing of it until your offer sounds so attractive that you do not have to say much more to get a subscriber to sign up to it. Remember-the purpose of marketing is to make selling superfluous. (Rich Schefren)
But since you are a canny person, you will leave that over until the fifth email in the sequence which will basically be your ‘Call to action’ email. In your ‘call to action’ email you can recap what you wrote previously about your difficult situation and how you solved it, and repeat the other benefits to them also, so that they will be gagging to get their hands on it. You present them with the offer and tell them what to do to acquire it and hopefully you start to see some sales. To you this will, hopefully, become a magical process. Sound good?
Anyway I hope this has elucidated the concept of the Soap Opera Sequence to you. I cannot tell strongly enough that you must use cliffhangers between episodes to build up the dram for your audience like they do in real soaps. Thank you for reading this.Till next time.Mike
